The classes were a brilliant time for me to enjoy my pregnancy and build my confidence and trust in my self to have the natural birth and labour that I wanted. Through out my labour I was able to trust in my instincts and belief in my body. Amazing!!!

Hazel and baby Imogen

Following only 50mins sleep I woke at 1.50am on Thurs 18th Sept 08, I realised I was having contractions but felt very calm and attempted to stay in bed and sleep and rest. This was clearly too uncomfortable and I was concerned about waking my husband Yaz so got up and spent the next 4.5hrs walking around the house leaning on my knees, sitting on the loo! and trying to rest in our spare room. I suddenly became very very cold and went and woke Yaz who was totally oblivious that I had even got out of bed! He got up and made me sugary tea, which was just what I wanted and toast which I didn't want! I felt very calm and organised, got him to walk the dog and pack the car and generally continued as before. During my labour Yaz had many interruptions which kept him pre-occupied which was actually fine as I was able to go into a very private and quiet place for most of the labour. At one point I did speak with my sister and have a bath but other than those things I just found listening to various noises very calming and lots of steady breathing which I had been taught in Rosa's classes!

Time passed quickly and at about 2pm we left to go to the hospital, on getting there the midwifes were lovely very non-invasive and respectful! I had a quick exam and pleasingly I was already 7cm, much of the same continued until about 3.25pm. At this point I got onto the bed and Imogen was delivered at 3.37pm!!!
